Peaky Blinders is returning with a follow-up movie titled Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man, and new images show actor Barry Keoghan ahead of the release of the new addition to the franchise. The image released by Empire shows Keoghan leading the pack, which is unusual for fans of the series, as Tommy Shelby is always at the head of the table.
The character Keoghan will be portraying has largely been kept under wraps, but it appears he's going to be leading a younger generation of Peaky Blinders. Keoghan spoke to Empire about his decision to join the legendary British series,"I’d always wanted to be part of it. But the schedules never worked, or I didn’t fit the description of what they were looking for." Keoghan had previously worked with Murphy on Christopher Nolan's war film Dunkirk and saw this as a perfect opportunity to reunite with his fellow actor. Only a day or so ago, Murphy expressed the disappointing news that The Immortal Man would mark his final showing as the iconic character Tommy. Creator Steven Knight stated that the new addition to the franchise feels like"the end of a novel," but it's unclear how Tommy will recover from the events of the final season of Peaky Blinders, and if he will ever get a happy ending. Peaky Blinders aired from 2013 up until 2022 for its sixth and final season. The series itself is highly acclaimed and has an impressive Rotten Tomatoes rating of 93%. It follows Tommy Shelby leading a gang named the Peaky Blinders based in Birmingham, but not everyone is welcoming of the gang and will stop at nothing to ensure Tommy and his family's downfall. The Immortal Man's cast includes Rebecca Ferguson, Tim Roth, Stephen Graham, Sophie Rundle, Ned Dennehy, Packy Lee, Ian Peck, and Jay Lycurgo. Despite the movie marking a final chapter for Murphy and Tommy Shelby, he will return to executive produce the new Peaky Blinders series, which will take place after World War II, but unfortunately, it doesn't have a release date or any details. Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man will be released in theaters on Friday, March 6, 2026, and on Netflix on Friday, March 20, 2026.
