It's going to happen
While it does feel like the entire Marvel Cinematic Universe has been building up to events in Avengers: Endgame, it isn't as if the MCU is just going to stop entirely once the dust has settled.
Having said that, there has already been talk about Black Panther 2 , Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol.3 , Doctor Strange 2, and undoubtedly a second Captain Marvel, since the first has just passed the billion dollar mark at the global box office. However, anyone expecting that to happen any time soon may wish their super ability was breath-holding. Which is convoluted way of saying: Don't hold your breath."It’ll be a while. It’s all just beginning and the five-year plan that we’ve been working on, we were working on before any of that was set. So really it’s much more, for us, less about specifics of when and where [the X-Men will appear] right now and more just the comfort factor and how nice it is that they’re home.
So what that essentially means is that they're looking to take the existing characters in bold new directions, while adding even more new characters, such as the god-like Eternal and Shang-Chi, which will be Marvel's first Asian-led superhero movie, and now has director Destin Daniel Cretton attached.
